Is it normal to experience considerable packet loss and wildly fluctuating speeds ?
I ran a ping /t to google.co.in and a few other websites and there seems to be dropped packets every 20-25 seconds or even more. The time Is there any way to fix this ? Also, Speedtest websites give widely differing results based on the time of day and the website used. ---------- Post added at 05:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:28 PM ---------- Forgot to mention, the round trip time on packets on a ping fluctuates considerably e.g. for google, it's between 76ms and 119ms ---------- Post added at 05:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:29 PM ---------- Here's a typical ping log from when the internet starts acting up: Reply from 209.85.153.104: bytes=32 time=115ms TTL=245 Reply from 209.85.153.104: bytes=32 time=115ms TTL=245 Request timed out.
