Default BSNL weird problem

Hi All,

I have a rather peculiar problem with BSNL broadband.

Some sites wont load up with my connection:

On gmail.com, I get 102 errors. torrentz.com, never connects .. and lots of such sites.

I thought it were a bsnl dns issue, so I changed the dns to opendns.

Everything works fine with the corporate vpn - gmail etc. so its definitely not a latency issue. However, vpn works on windoze, and I am on linux most of the time.

Further, if I use an encrypted net proxy, then too every thing goes through fine; I wont trust those buggers with my passwords though.

The work around is to use alpine for gmail; and hope that most other sites work - but somehow this problem is very irritating.

My setup is ADSL modem <-> Linksys Wireless

I have tried, bypassing Wireless, purging my browser cache, and changing dns.

btw, things like skype etc, work fine (touch-wood). It is, as if bsnl is actively dropping connections going to certain sites - but I would doubt that.

If any one has any clue, as to what is happening here, or what to do please comment.
