Default Try BSNL

Get BSNL NIC internet. Here are the options :--

NIC option 1 :--
==============
>> Refundable deposit of Rs.1000 (no tax charged on this)
>> Activation charge (non refundable) of Rs.250 + 12.36% tax (total = Rs.281)

Then the monthly charge is Rs.250 (+12.36%tax) + Rs.150 for device rental (+12.36 tax on this). The total comes to Rs.450 (Rs.400 + tax at 12.36%)

NIC option 2 :--
==============
>> Device purchase (you will be owner of the device) of Rs.2800
>> Activation charge (non refundable) of Rs.250 + 12.36% tax (total = Rs.281)

Then the monthly charge is Rs.250 (+12.36%tax). The total comes to Rs.281 (Rs.250 + tax at 12.36%)

For both the above options you would get 144 kbps each.

For more details, call 1500 (tollfree from your BSNL mobile or from your home BSNL landline).

Note : Throw away airtel gprs. Worst speed.
