I recently had a chance to check out the Reliance IPTV demo at their NNOC centre! Sorry for posting here, but there is no seperate forum for Reliance IPTV as yet.

The demo was through TV. Set Top Box has 80-100GB hard drive and can record/ pause the live feed.

Control is through a wired remote (never seen one before!) that can also triples up as the keyboard AND the phone/ answering device. Imagine holding a remote to your ear!!!

Alternately of course you can connect a wireless keyboard.

Content - in addition to regular channels and VOD they also plan to launch on-line shopping, e-learning and e-banking.

From the demo I gathered that they are aiming for a very user-friendly (read : mass audience) kind of set up. The kind of HHs that don't yet have a PC.

Of course, no info on pricing etc. except that it will be on par with DTH offerings - obviously it has to be!
