Does anybody know if there's a way to stop Vodafone and third parties sending advertising texts/SMSes and advertising service messages?

There was a thread about this on ****************** in 2006 but no solution. Maybe something that got lost in the transition from Hutch to Vodafone. If you like to see that thread, search for "Is DND list only for calls, not SMS?"
